The exhibition Beneath the Southern Sky is being presented by Brenda Gael Smith and was launched at The Q on Tuesday. It will run until December, 18.
The travelling exhibition explores 30 different textiles work from all over Australia showcasing a wide range of techniques and materials enabling people to see fabric art in a way they perhaps haven't experienced before.
Visitors can expect to be reminded about Australian culture like aboriginal patterns and even a quilt with old Australian song lyrics like "I've been everywhere man".
There are a wide range of artistic styles and materials on display including felt works, embroidery, art made out of tea bags and even fabric died in bark to get the effect of a tree.
