A man has been stabbed while performing a citizen's arrest, as bystanders tackled a man who was allegedly running through a shopping centre car park armed with a knife.

The armed man was allegedly "acting erratically" as he ran through a car park on Lonsdale Street in Melbourne's CBD at 6am on November 6, police said.
Investigators were told that two bystanders saw the man and chased him south along Elizabeth Street, catching up with him at the corner of Lonsdale Street.
One of the bystanders, a 41-year-old man from Maddingley, was stabbed in the lower body while restraining the armed man, police said.
He was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
The second bystander, a 35-year-old man from Sanctuary Lakes, was not injured.
Police arrived and arrested a 32-year-old man from Dallas, Melbourne.
There has been an increased police presence in Melbourne's CBD following the alleged stabbing of a 36-year-old Melbourne West woman on Little Bourke Street on October 2.
Police also arrested an allegedly armed man in Melbourne CBD on October 14 after a suspected string of attempted carjackings.
The state's Public Order Response Team has increased patrols across Melbourne's CBD to detect and deter crime, police said.
