Police were called to a home in Berambing in the Blue Mountains at 8.45pm on February 2 following reports that a 22-year-old man had been assaulted.

The attacker and the victim knew each other, police said.
Investigators arrived but the alleged attacker ran into the Blue Mountains bush before he could be arrested.
A police plane and search party scoured the bush for the alleged attacker on February 3 but he was not found.
The search continued for around 30 hours before police arrested a 26-year-old man more than 400 kilometres from the location where he was last seen in the Blue Mountains.
Police in Tamworth NSW stopped the man on Werris Creek Road at 3am on February 4.
He was charged with stalking or intimidating with the intention to cause fear of physical harm and domestic violence common assault.
The 26-year-old was also charged with domestic violence common assault for an unrelated offence in Piallamore on January 28.
He was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court on March 18.
