Australian YouTuber films escape from military drug raid

Spanian's footage showed bricks of drugs and guns laid on a bed before the military arrived and the YouTuber made his escape with the alleged gang members.

The 37-year-old ex-convict visited the notorious San Javier neighbourhood in Medellin, Colombia as part of a series covering international gangs and their communities.

Spanian, whose real name is Anthony Lees, spent 13 years in prison but shot to fame on social media "flying around sussing out the hoods all over the world".

He uploaded the video to YouTube on July 1 to give his 776,000 subscribers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the drug trade of one of the world's most dangerous cities.

"Tusi is the product we move," one alleged gang member, with his face blurred, said to Spanian in the video.

Tusi, a name derived from 2C psychedelic phenethylamines, is a drug concoction often containing ketamine that has emerged in Latin America and Europe.

It's sometimes called 'pink cocaine' in reference to its blushed colour.

"For us to be able to do this, we have lookouts all over the streets," one alleged gang member told the Aussie YouTuber.

Footage showed one of the group urging Spanian to be quiet after he asked why everyone had started whispering.

The group, with Spanian in tow, made their escape over rooftops in the Medellin neighbourhood before the YouTuber abruptly stopped filming saying "cuz that's crazy, I'm going to turn the camera off for a minute, alright. This is no f------ joke".

A fan commented on the video saying "I think that's the first time we have seen Spanian look so scared".
