A father and son have been rescued after clinging to an esky in choppy waters in Massachusetts, USA.

The Boston Police Department released footage of the duo being pulled to safety while desperately clinging to the floating cooler box.
Body camera footage captures the son pleading with rescuers to pull his 76-year-old father up first, saying "we're so weak".
"Help him up please, help him up first," the son said.

The vision indicates the father was wearing a lifejacket at the time. Medics assessed the unnamed pair once they had reached the shore, and found them to have suffered only minor injuries.
It's understood the responding officers, Stephen Merrick and Garrett Boyle, had heard a call for help at 6.30pm on Wednesday (local time), after a boat near Graves Light Station, Boston Harbour began taking on water.
The lobster vessel, named Glory Days, was found to be only partially submerged along the bow.
It's believed the boat's engine had failed after becoming tangled in netting before it was drawn by the currents towards rocks that punctured its hull.
The Boston Police Department has since tweeted a picture of the father and son meeting with their rescuers on the dry land once again.
