"NSW Health continue to contact people diagnosed with COVID-19 and their close contacts. NSW Health also continue to support workplaces and other locations that have a potential COVID-19 outbreak."
According to NSW Health, 2213 people have tested positive for COVID-19 and more than 127,000 testes were conducted in the 24 hour period up to December 16, 8 pm.
Of those numbers, there are currently 215 people in hospital with the coronavirus across NSW, including 24 people requiring intensive care.
Residents should be alert for even the mildest symptoms that could signal COVID-19 including headache, nausea, sore throat, runny nose, cough, loss of smell or taste, or fever.
If symptoms appear, people must isolate and get tested immediately, and remain isolated until a negative result is received.
There are more than 500 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW and a full list is available here.
