Litigation Solicitor

Your new company
Our client is a specialised boutique provider with service offerings in strata law, property law, building and construction law, and litigation. Its clients include small to medium businesses and individuals. They are experts in providing straight to the point legal advice and representation, with proven success in resolving disputes quickly and confidentially. An opportunity has arisen for a Senor Litigator to join their highly professional team.

Your new role

• Day to day carriage of litigation matters with a focus on building and construction and strata disputes
• Assisting in other areas of law such as commercial litigation and insolvency
• Appearing in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the Federal Court of Australia in proceedings of various kinds, both with and without counsel as required
• Liaising with and advising clients regarding their rights, obligations, alternatives and prospects
• Preparing pleadings, motions, affidavit evidence, subpoenas, notices to produce, and other court documents
• Briefing, conferring with, and instructing counsel

What you'll need to succeed

• Current Australian practising certificate
• Ideally a minimum 4 years' PQE in litigation with a focus on building and construction disputes
• Solid drafting skills and high attention to detail
• Ability to be adaptable and assist in different practice areas such as commercial litigation
• Strong critical thinking ability and decision-making skill set
• Ability to work autonomously within a fast-paced, busy law firm.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
