The consistent success of the event led to organisers taking the plunge, choosing to move the event to the Queanbeyan Showgrounds, while also adding the Christmas Fair moniker to the event name.
Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council cultural development officer Georgina Perri spoke of the longevity and growth of the event, lauding the jam packed program.
"This is our eighth year and it's just been growing and growing," she said.
"So that's why we will be changing venue, so we can fit some more stallholders and give our current stallholders more room.
"We're going to have some local performances and we have free family activities such as Christmas craft, general craft, face painting all day, and heaps of beautiful, delicious, hot food, which we haven't been able to offer in the other venue at The Q."
Perri attributed the "great atmosphere" to the continued success of the markets.
"It's a great community event with lots of community based organisations and I think it's just a bit of fun and something to do on a cold, chilly Sunday in July," she said.
"It's very anticipated now, so lots of people look forward to it now and plan to come along. It's definitely on everyone's social calendar."
Hospital Auxiliary vendor Nerida Williams said the people of Queanbeyan were "amazing" when it came to engaging with the local community and its various producers and growers.
"They're amazing, the people in Queanbeyan are just amazing when it comes to raising money," she said.
"And supporting local vendors, they all come out for it."
The inaugural Queanbeyan Christmas Fair - Christmas in July Market Day will be held at the Queanbeyan Showgrounds, off Glebe Avenue, on Sunday, July 24, between 10am and 3pm.
