The stint was part of their ‘Coffee with a Cop’ initiative, where police officers chat to locals over a free coffee.
Duty officer at Monaro Command Michael Handley said it was an opportunity for people to come down and have a yarn.
“It’s just a way of police keeping contact with the community.
Roughly 50 people showed up at the coffee shot to chat about issues they were having, or just for a friendly chat.
“We’ve had a few people talk to us about drugs, which we’re always happy to get information on.
“People have concerns about simple things like cars not stopping at pedestrian crossings.
“So we’ll talk to our car crews and highway patrols to let them know there are issues and they’ll keep an eye out and hopefully stop the problem.
“We need to find out what people want in the community.”
The next session will be held at Goodwin Day Club on Monaro Street between 10.30am and 11.30am on Wednesday, June 1.
