Children and parents at the centre are donating generous amounts of food for emergency relief.
The appeal will run throughout May and June and Anglicare and the early learning centre are encouraging people to give generously.
"Being involved with the Pantry Appeal is a great chance for children in our centre to learn about giving to others," Googong Early Learning Centre director Rose Young said.
Anglicare CEO, Jeremy Halcrow said with winter marching onwards, he expects hundreds of people will need assistance from Anglicare during these months.
"Last year over 40,000 items were generously donated," he said.
"This year we're aiming for even more.
"For many people living in Canberra, the struggle to get by day-to-day can mean just finding enough money for food."
