A combat sports show involving muay thai kickboxing and western boxing, The Fight Night II is run by Gym Victus and sanctioned by the World Kickboxing Association.

A large focus of the red-carpet event is the promotion of positive living through the art of combat and movement, and local charity OzHelp has jumped on board as a sponsor in order to help out with the cause.

"It's about fighting for life," Gym Victus owner and operator Gavin Stone said.

"We're fighting for a cause and it may sound like a cliche but it's not, because it's true."

Stone and the team at Gym Victus suffered a personal loss last year, when a close friend found himself struggling with mental illness and took his own life.

"It was a real shock for everyone, it's not like you can categorize people but you just never would have thought it with him," he said.

"A part of The Fight Night is to help out with that cause because he used to help everyone out, so if this helps someone else who is going down that pathway it will be a good thing."

The Fight Night II will also serve as a testing opportunity for the scores of everyday individuals who have undertaken the Gym Victus Fight Night Academy program in the lead up to the event.

Stone said the specific nature of fight preparation training was second to none.

"I love the fitness side of it and the fact that when you're training up for a fight you have to be really clean in your living," Stone said.

"No drinking, no smoking, and certainly no drugs, and it has helped a lot of people to live a clean life in terms of that.

"For me personally it did that as well, I was probably like most people in my late teens and early twenties. I wasn't very clean with those things so it helped me a lot."
