Most recently, McMahon was a member of the ACT wakeboarding team that went up against the best riders around the country when the 2016 installment of the Australian Wakeboard Nationals converged upon the Molonglo River. McMahon placed just shy of the podium at fourth in the junior men’s division with a score of 55.26
“The ACT had a good team this year,” McMahon said.
“The previous years we have only had five or six competitively for ACT and then this year we had around 25, so we had a really good team.”
Holly Watt of Sutton had a podium finish, taking out second place in the junior women’s division with a score of 55.58, while Leigh Baguley and Chelsea Kelly were the only other ACT riders to place in the top six for their respective divisions, with Baguley scoring 49.45 to bag second in the men’s masters and Kelly notching up 52.78 to secure her silver finish in the under-9 girls.
