For 67-year-old Peter Reimitz, his garden next to the Men's Shed plays a major role in this.
While a stroke slowed him down, it certainly didn't stop him. And the Men's Shed garden helps keep him moving and motivated.
Purpose-built by the gentlemen in the group, Mr Reimitz tries his hand at growing whatever is in season.
For winter, he has broccoli, cabbages and kale, among other things, proudly growing.
"With the stroke it makes it a bit tricky," Mr Reimitz said.
"I used to run 40 kilometres a day, used to be very fit.
"Then suddenly this happened. [The garden] keeps me active, coming here and getting out and about."
The Men's Shed is open to men of all ages. Find them at 5 Lorn Road.
