Queanbeyan City Council will hold a public forum at 6pm at Council Chambers on Tuesday, February 16 regarding the proposed merge with Palerang. Input from the public at the forum will help inform council in formulating its written submission to Mr Turner. A decision or declaration regarding new boundaries is expected to be announced on Friday, July 1.

Stumped for ideas on how to wow your significant other this Valentine’s Day? The Canberra Railway Museum will again be running their Valentine’s Day Restaurant Train to Bungendore and back. A three-course meal is provided as the train winds its way through the Molonglo Gorge. The cost is $250 per couple.
Sunday, February 14
If a train isn’t your idea of romance, and you would prefer to do something on the actual day for your beau, then consider a leisurely journey to Braidwood and Yately House where a Valentine’s Day High Tea will be held. Local author L.J.M. Owen will be at Queanbeyan Library from 5.30pm for a talk and book signing event. Register at the loans counter at the library or phone 6285 6238.
Saturday, February 20
The Community Bush Dance, a Cancer Council NSW initiative, is the pre-launch for the Rekay for Life. The Bush Dance will be held at the Queanbeyan Showground for an evening of fun family entertainment. Learn to dance, spit roast and damper, live band and bush yarns will all be availabe from 4pm. Cost is $10 for a family, or $5 each.
Tuesday, February 23
The Queanbeyan Players AGM will be held at 7.30pm on Tuesday, February 23 at the Quenabeyan Kangaroo Rugby League Football Club on the corner of Stuart Street and Richard Avenue. Members will be able to meet for dinner in the restaurant from 6pm.
Sunday, February 28
The Queanbeyan Multicultural Festival-Carnivale will return to the city for another year. Those in attendance will be able to witness the public signing between Queanbeyan City Council and the Refugee Council of Australia in recognising Queanbeyan as a Refugee Welcome Zone. Additionally, more than 20 performances will be held in celebration of a variety of cultures and nationalities. It will be held in Queanbeyan Town Park from 10am to 4pm.
Sunday, March 6
The Canberra Women and Girls' Fun Run will be reaching it's 30th birthday this year and to commemorate the occassion, participants are encouraged to come dressed in 'heroes' theme. The northern side of Lake Burley Griffin will play host to the event, with the Fun Run commencing at 9am. All proceeds raised during the Fun Run go to OvCan, a local ovarian cancer awareness and support group.
Tuesday, March 8
An International Women’s Day Breakfast will be held from 7-8.30am at the Jerrabomberra Community Centre for $30 each. Co-hosted by Soroptimist International and the CWA, the funds raised will go to Louisa Domestic Violence Service, Homelessness services and the Court Advocacy Service. The Queanbeyan Charity Rodeo will return in 2016, with the event including all major rodeo events, including bull rides, saddle bronc rides, bare back, ladies barrel race and entertainment for the kids, with a sideshow, food and a comedy clown on hand.
