Representing the city this month were members from the Queanbeyan Leagues Swim Club, who spent their summer in the deeper end of the pool by travelling to Sydney Olympic Park to compete in the NSW State Age Championships.

Alex Lakic, Emily Siciliano, Claire Molineux and Georgia Manning all competed in the 13 to 18 years installment of the competition, which ran from January 18 to 23.
Young star Brad Rauter competed in the 12 years and under between January 15 and 16.
All five swimmers excelled in their respective events, and Molineux and Rauter found significant success.
Molineux' performance in her chosen backstroke saw her pick up a gold medal in the 14 year 200 metres and a silver medal in the 100 metres.
Meanwhile, Rauter finished in the top 10 NSW swimmers for all of his events except the 200 metre freestyle where he finished 11th.
The 12-year-old finished up sixth in the 100 metre freestyle and breaststroke finals, seventh in the 200 metre individual medley and the 50 metre freestyle, eighth in the 100 metre backstroke, 10th in the 200 metre breaststroke.
Rauter also recorded personal best times in all of his events. QLSC representative swimmers will again travel to Sydney in order to compete in the NSW Country Championships, which will be held from February 20 to 21.
