A primary school teacher has been charged with the aggravated indecent assault of seven young female students at a school in the Southern Highlands, police say.

The 57-year-old man will face Moss Vale Local Court in early January after Child Abuse Squad detectives arrested him at Bowral police station this week.
Police will allege in court that the teacher indecently assaulted seven girls, all of whom were students at the primary school where he taught.
The offences are alleged to have occurred last and this year.
The man is not performing any teaching duties at the school, police said.
Neither the teacher nor the school can not be named to protect the identity of the students.
Police said they were made aware of allegations about the teacher's behaviour this month and immediately launched an investigation, resulting in Wednesday's arrest.
The teacher was charged with 13 counts of aggravated indecent assault.
He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear in court on January 5.
