Police are investigating a break, enter and steal where a large number of power and handheld tools and a grey box trailer were stolen from an industrial premises along John Bull Street. The theft occurred between midday on Friday, November 13, and 7.50pm on Sunday, November 15.
Between 11.30pm on Friday, November 13, and 8am on Sunday, November 15, five motor vehicles were targeted in thefts that saw power and hand tools stolen. Police are investigating the thefts, in which all vehicles targeted were utilities and the tools were unsecured. The thefts occurred from Forest Drive, Aspen Rise, Brudenell Drive in Jerrabomberra and Bellambi Place in Queanbeyan. Police wish to remind residents to secure vehicles and do not leave valuable items in them.
Two Queanbeyan men, aged 31 and 35, will appear in Queanbeyan Local Court later this month after receiving a large amount of stolen equipment. Police will allege the property was stolen from a building site in Morton Street between 5pm Friday, November 13, and 7.20am Saturday, November 14. Police recovered some of the stolen items however a number of items, including power tools and equipment has not been recovered.
A 25-year-old Queanbeyan male was arrested after being found with implements allegedly to be used to break into premises, in an apartment building car park along Uriarra Road, at about 3am on Sunday, November 15. Police arrested the man who will appear in Queanbeyan Local Court later this month.
Driving under the influence
A Canberra man was caught driving along Stornaway Road with a blood alcohol level of 0.100 on Friday November 13 at 10.15pm. The 31-year-old was arrested and taken to Queanbeyan Police Station where he had his driving licence suspended. He will appear before the Queanbeyan Local Court early next month.
Car goes up in flames
A 2003 silver SUV was set alight and completely destroyed by fire between 9.54pm and 10.25pm on Sunday, November 15, along Edwin Land Parkway in Jerrabomberra. Police are investigating and believe the fire was suspicious. Witnesses are urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
