The second annual event will feature plenty of fun for the whole family, including water activities, face painting, lantern making, live music and market stalls, along the yarn-bombed banks of the Queanbeyan River.
As part of the festivities, Queanbeyan residents and businesses are being encouraged to register for the boat building activity to raise money for the Cancer Support Group.
The Service NSW team, named the Swans, will take part for the second year running.
Manager Jennifer McNeill said the team enjoyed the challenge, and the atmosphere of the festival.
"It builds such a strong sense of community and I've seen that. Although we're already very community oriented here, it's actually engaged the team even more so," Ms McNeill said.
"It builds team morale and it is just a super fun day."
Ms McNeill said the team had held boat-building sessions in the lead up to the event, and they're following the same principles they did for their last entry.
"Last year we were successful in securing the best use of recycled material, so she looked a treat but she wasn't very fast," she said.
