Judges are currently assessing the record 33 entries for this year's Queanbeyan Business Excellence Awards ahead of the presentation evening at The Q.

An additional 1300-plus entries have been received for the community nomination awards, which include the popular Customer Service Award.

"We were very pleased to receive such a great number of nominations this year and we look forward to celebrating the finalists and winners at The Q," Business Excellence Awards Committee Chair Sue Whelan said.

The presentation evening will be a networking event for attendees with cocktail food and drinks available as part of the $45 ticket price.

The Awards to be presented on 30 October include:

2015 Queanbeyan Business of the Year to be selected from the self-nomination awards and lifetime achievement award.

The Self-nomination awards include:

- Retail (less than and more than 10 employees);

- Tourism, Hospitality and Events; Light ndustry/Manufacturing;

- Professional Services;

- Not for Profit/Community-based Organisation.

The Community-nomination awards are:

- Customer Service Award;

- Disability Employer of the Year;

- Workplace Placement Employer of the Year.
