It's now being tagged "the worst kept secret in radio" with reports swirling that Rove McManus is to usurp the flailing Dan & Maz from 2DayFM's Breakfast Show.

Following the latest ratings slump where Dan & Maz dropped 0.8 of a point to a share of just 3.1 per cent of breakfast listeners, attention has now turned to who will replace the ailing duo.
McManus, most recently seen as a guest host on The Project, a show which his production company Roving Enterprises makes, is widely tipped to fill the breakfast seat.
According to News Corp Australia reports the presenter has "committed" to the radio role although station Southern Cross Austereo is yet to find a co-host for him.
The addition of McManus would be a huge bid to revive the fortunes of 2DayFM's breakfast offering. Dan Debuf and Maz Compton failed to get off the starting block in ratings since beginning the slot in January. Their predecessors, Mel B, Sophie Monk, Merrick Watts and Jules Lund, who started in January 2014, also underwhelmed, facing a tough ride in following Kyle and Jackie O who decamped to KIIS at the end of 2013.
McManus has worked regularly in radio, beginning as a guest host with Triple J in 1999 and with other stints on Triple M.
The position would put him back in rivalry with Kiis FM's Kyle Sandilands and Jackie Henderson. Sandilands once labellled Rove a "piece of sh-- cable host".
