Extra-time heartbreak
QUEANBEYAN City FC has suffered the agony of an extra-time defeat to go down 2-1 to arch-rivals White Eagles in last weekend’s ACT State League grand final at Hawker Football Centre.
A Dejan Santrac goal deep into extra time was enough to lift White Eagles to a second-straight premiership trophy after the two sides had finished regulation time locked a one goal apiece.
The victory capped off an unbeaten campaign for White Eagles who were the competition’s form team all season.

THE Bungendore Tigers proved unable to repeat last year’s premiership heroics on Sunday as the defending champions were beaten 34-12 by the Hall Hornets in the George Tooke Shield grand final.
The result was sweet revenge for the Hornets who were bundled out of last year’s finals race by Bungendore in a humiliating 44-4 demolition.
Tries to Josh Chudleigh and Ash Reeves weren’t enough for the Tigers who trailed 20-6 at half-time.
