The scoreboard showed an 83-point demolition, but assistant coach Dave Corcoran said the team were far from their best and at times were given a run for their money by the underrated Jets.

"We were a little flat and didn't play fantastic footy," he said.

"Gungahlin have shown a lot of development this year- [the scoreboard] said we won easily, but some of their passages of play were impressive."

Queanbeyan stretched out to a 39-point margin at half-time, but charged home with a 41-point final term.

Brilliant defence from captain Andrew Swan and Alec McCormick kept the Jets to just five goals- Alex Page, Tim Clowry and Marcus Lawrence were impressive further afield.

'Merv' Armstrong will step up for goal sneak Williams who jets off on a family holiday next week- the Tigers also expect Kane Godde to be available for selection in their semi final against Ainslie at Allinsure Park this Sunday, September 6.

Player/coach Kade Klemke is still unsure about his availability after breaking his hand in round 14, but said he is confident the team can cope regardless.

"We've beaten them all three times, but Ainslie are going to be strong- with no NEAFL they'll have a full squad. It should be close, so anyone can win it," he said.

"We need to focus on winning the footy, at times the midfield can be our weakness- we need the likes of Dean Ross, Jack O'Halloran and Jimmy Armstrong, our ball winners, to focus on winning that footy. And Merv can be the guy that stands up for us, him and [Grocott] who's been great this season- he has a bright future ahead of him.

"We have the team to go all the way- if we're on we're good."
