The Tigers finished as minor premiers, a winning culture that was established early, player/co-coach Dan Woodford said.

"We lost one game in the first couple of rounds, so we sat everyone down and said we didn't want to lose again, we only lost one other game," he said.

"We've been in this position before, but we don't want to go in too confident."

If they can get over the line in their first home grand final against Yass it will break a four-year drought, after losing the grand final in 2012- the current win/loss ledger is a win each.

"It's only ever been about an eight or 10-point margin between us and Yass, so it should be a close contest," Woodford said.

"We just need to start well and complete. We need our runner up [George Tooke Shield] Players' Player and lock Mark Hogan [also captain/co-coach] to lead from the front and experienced heads to direct the team around.

"We've got a great bunch of guys here and a great culture where everyone plays a role and they play for each other."

This is the second year of Tigerettes, playing touch football last year before the OzTag like 'League Tag' was established this season.

The squad already celebrated a win this week after their star player Teagan Pateman dominated the Women's League Tag awards on Monday, coming home with the Best and Fairest, Top Point Scorer and Top Try Scorer awards.

Out of three meetings during the regular season the Tigerettes have won just one, but acting captain Cassie Taylor said the clash should be "very close"

"We're positive- we're coming in as underdogs, but we've beat them once," she said.

"Everyone con-tributes in their own way."

"We have to focus on our ball control, defense and moving up," Pateman said.

"We're a lot fitter than them, we just have to weather the storm in the first half and we'll get there in the end," coach Matt Pateman said.
