HOCKEY: Queanbeyan played host to its first hockey carnival in years, as Queanbeyan United Hockey Club (QUHC) brought the ACT Hockey's Hook in 2 Hockey Carnival to Queanbeyan Park on Saturday, August 15.

The Carnival had more than six hockey clubs in attendance, with more than 100 children participating in hockey games throughout the morning. The Queanbeyan United Hockey community were extremely well organised, with cake stalls, BBQ, coffee and entertainment too.
Queanbeyan Mayor, Tim Overall attended, thanking all participants for coming out to Queanbeyan and helping build the hockey community.
QUHC players wore pink in support of breast cancer awareness and the club raised funds to continue to support the Blundell Park Minkey centre for 2016.
Hook in 2 Hockey will finish for QUHC when they take on Old Canberran's on August 29 at Blundell park from 9.30 - 11.30am.
The Hook in 2 Hockey Queanbeyan Centre will reopen in 2016 at the start term two of the school year, keep an eye on the Queanbeyan United Hockey Club website for registration days.
