A woman has been left with a facial wound after she was allegedly attacked by a man wielding a knife as she waited in her car at a local shopping centre in Sydney's west on Monday evening.

The woman aged in her 40s was sitting in the driver's seat of her Toyota Camry at Greenway Shopping Centre when it is alleged a man approached the car and opened the passenger door.
Threatening the woman with a knife, the man got into the car and demanded she hand over her handbag and phone, police said.
The woman was slashed across her cheek with the knife before the man fled with her belongings into bushland off The Horsley Drive.
Emergency services were called to the Greenway car park about 7.10pm where they found the woman with a facial wound.
She was taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment.
Police from Fairfield Local Area Command established a crime scene and searched the local area and bushland with the help of the Dog Unit, but the man has not been found.
Officers will check CCTV in the area for any sign of the man, who is described as being in his 20s with a large tribal tattoo on his arm. It is believed he was wearing a dark hoodie and jeans.
