AFTER working at a Queanbeyan pharmacy for the past four years, Naomi Boswell has seen far too many patients dealing with cancer. She had to do something to help.

The 20-year-old Burra woman is partnering with her dad, Thomas to participate in the first international running of the Sh-tbox Rally to raise money for the Cancer Council. The pair will fly to New Zealand in February, 2016 to travel along the back roads of the island in a car valued under $1000.
"I see cancer patients everyday and it breaks my heart. I just want to help find a cure for the horrible disease that is cancer," Naomi said.
"I've seen a lot of people recover, I see a lot of people go into remission and I've seen too many people pass away."
The father-daughter team has applied to be part of the Sh-tbox Rally for the past three years and were elated to be selected this round.
They will be one of 200 cars rallying to raise money to find a cure for cancer.
"We finally got in, they've got a very long list of people who want to get in and we were chosen this time," Thomas said.
"It will be basically having fun, seeing the sights and raising money in a car that's not very worthwhile.
"It'll be a bit of a challenge."
Naomi said she can't think of a better partner in crime than her dad. The pair share a tight knit relationship and there won't be any fights over music choice. They have same taste in music and expect their playlist will include a lot of Pink, The Script and Colton Avery.
"I can't get sick of my dad," Naomi said.
"I think it will be fun, it will be a great life experience and I couldn't think of anyone better to share it with."
Part of the fun will be celebrating Naomi's 21st birthday while out on the open roads of New Zealand. It's part of the reason why the pair have chosen the team name 'Nom Nom's 21'.
"I think it will be fun, I'll be in New Zealand celebrating with a bunch of people I've never met before," Naomi said.
Before the pair set off on their merry way they will need to raise a minimum of $4000. They have planned plenty of weekend sausage sizzles in Queanbeyan and Canberra and a movie fundraising night.
They have also organised a charity movie screening of the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 in November. There is also car sponsorship up for grabs.
