A tough game from the start it took a while for either side to break through, opportunities missed from both ends of the ground.
Offensive pressure from the Whites saw captain Dan Penca sneak between a number of players for Queanbeyan's first score on the board.
Panca's try seemed to spur on the home side- fast hands and quick movement allowed the Whites to go into the break with a 19-point lead.
Finishing with a 33-point win made the game look like a walkover for Queanbeyan, but coach Adam Fahey said it was a hard slog from start to finish.
"It was a tough game, it's the old coach's cliche: the score didn't reflect the toughness of the game," he said.
"But it was a step up from the week before. I was very happy with a number of areas [of our game]- our defensive efforts and attitude was outstanding.
"We used 22 players and everyone played a part and did a great job."
Brumbies prop Les Makin made a guest appearance and was instrumental in the win, along with a few Whites regulars, Fahey said.
"[Makin] was great, he just brings that professional attitude to the team," he said.
"The back row was very good, Tom Darmody and Sokai Tai, doug Lancaster was good on the wing and Zac Tarrant at five-eighth played well."
Second-placed Queanbeyan take on competition leaders Tuggeranong at Viking Park on Saturday in a battle for top spot and Fahey said the Whites will have to be at the top of their game.
"We just need to keep improving, [Vikings] will be a tough challenge, but we're looking forward to playing them, which I take as a positive," he said.
"Our attack is still not quite where we'd like it to be and we've still got a long way to go in some areas. I'm happy with our progress, but we're not quite there to go all the way at the moment, but each week we're just focusing on improving.
"We started the season very well and we had a bit of a mid season slump with injuries and people away, but we've had the opportunity to assess where we're at and I've asked the players for a big effort for the last six weeks of the season."
