CHELMSFORD: Shane Watson says he is grateful to have been permitted to a steady-as-she-goes approach to bowling in the early stages of the Ashes tour and, driven by sharing in World Cup glory after being dumped during the tournament, is hopeful he can confirm his place in the first Test team during the tour match against Essex.
