City have won the last two consecutive games and their last loss was five games ago, in round four, Noveski said.
“We had a tough game against ADFA (last game, winning 2-1), they’ve been our bogey team over the years,” he said.
“They scored first, but Nik Levanat scored the equaliser and then I scored the winner.
“We also beat Tuggeranong 4-2 (in round nine)- we’re one point out of top four with one game in hand.”
Nik Levanant has found form of late, making the most in front of goal, Noveski said, Ned Aleksic has been “gelling well” up forward and setup Noveski’s late goal in the ADFA win and Alex Celeski and Thomas Manga have “both been very impressive in defence”.
A consistent line-up has been the key to a stronger outfit in recent times after a “shaky start” plagued with injury and player turnover, Noveski said.
Rainfall forced the closure of Riverside Oval, which meant a reschedule to the much anticipated local derby against top-placed Monaro.
“Last time Monaro won 1-0 (in round two), but it was a very close. They had a penalty given in the first half and beat us 1-0, but we were clearly the better team, we dominated possession and had more chances we were extremely unlucky not to win that game,” Noveski said.
“With a derby it can always go either way- I’m really excited for it.”
City will line up against Narrabundah this Saturday at Riverside Stadium and Noveski said despite their round three 3-1 loss the team is confident they can get over the line.
“They beat us last time, but we’ve come a long way with our form since then,” he said.
“We’re going to top four, that’s our target and I think we’ll definitely get there, it’s just a matter of time.
“A lot will depend on our next game, but we shouldn’t lose another game this season, it’s a good time to start playing well.”
