But Fremantle says the decision to honour the fans' favourite is not an indication that 2015 will be his final year.

Club chief executive Steve Rosich told AFL.com.au that the club expected to discuss Pavlich's playing future at the end of the season.

"We're talking about a playing career which is ongoing," he said.
