AFL: Daylight came second as the Tigers thumped a struggling Eastlake 23. 19 (157) to 2.1 (13) at Allinsure Park on Saturday and player/coach Kade Klemke is hopeful the confidence of their second straight victory will hold them in good stead against the undefeated Belconnen this Saturday, May 30.

The Tigers dominated the first quarter, zoning on defence made it difficult for Eastlake to get past halfway and only managed to score a single major in the quarter thanks to fantastic defence lead by young gun Ben Fulford and offensive movement from Kane Godde- the home side had already registered a six-goal margin by the first break.
There was never a moment in the match that Queanbeyan significantly dropped the ball, but opportunities were certainly missed, the lead was stretched out to 72 at halftime, but with a score of 11.13 the damage could have been a lot worse for the Demons.
A 12-goal second half saw the Tigers run away with a massive 144-point win and second spot on the AFL Canberra ladder, above Tuggeranong on percentage.
Brett Fruend, the stand-in captain for the injured Andrew Swan, had a influential game on the half-forward line with great ball movement through the midfield and into the forward line, snagging four goals himself.
Paul Williams started off his season with the Tigers with a bang, sneaking through six goals. Explosive and fierce forward Klemke also slotted four goals and up-and-comers Matt Grocott and Alex Page scored two goals each.
Coach Klemke said although the game was a blowout there were plenty of positives that the Tigers will take into the Belconnen clash next week.
"I'm pretty happy with our defence- the last two weeks we've only conceeded 23 points, that's something that we've been working hard on, and our defensive run," he said.
"Our midfield struggled in the past two weeks, but we won the stoppages [against Eastlake] which helped our performance.
"Belconnen is the best team in the comp and this week will be a test to see if we've improved in the last two weeks.
"We should be competitive with them and if we can win our one-on-one battles we'll win the game."
