Despite her dazzling turnout at San Andreas' London premiere last week, and The Rock's excitable tweet about having her on the Queensland set last year, Kylie Minogue's part in the earthquake epic is as diminutive as the star herself.

It's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it performance as Susan Riddick, the ex-wife of real estate mogul Daniel Riddick (Ioan Gruffudd). In Minogue's one scene, she lunches with her former husband's new love Emma Gaines, the ex-wife of Dwayne Johnson's Chief Ray Gaines (keeping up?).

Minogue joined the set of San Andreas last June, with Johnson posting a photo of himself with the "amazing & gorgeous" singer and actor.

In her brief scene, she cuts a glamorous figure with highly-coiffed hair and a classic black dress but there's no love lost over the tense lunch; the pair ham it up in the style of an '80s soap opera. Without giving away any plot details, Minogue's scene comes to a swift end in a matter of minutes, with the earthquake to blame.

Even Variety claimed it was " a strange cameo role" for Minogue, noting that it is her "second consecutive film in which she appears for a single scene", referring to her role in Holy Motors. In that film, a surreal French fantasy drama which screened at Cannes in 2012, she appears only briefly before a quick exit off a roof.

Of course, Minogue has fleshed out, fuller roles in features such as 1989's teen drama The Delinquents and the Jean-Claude Van Damme action movie Street Fighter (1994). Since then, however, short and sweet has been the modus operandi for Minogue.

In last year's Nick Cave documentary-drama, 20,000 Days on Earth, she appears briefly as a face from the past, discussing the art of performance while a passenger in Cave's car. In 2001's Moulin Rouge, Baz Luhrmann made her the absinthe-induced Green Fairy, cranking out an ultra-hallucinogenic version of Children of the Revolution. 

Perhaps the best Minogue cameo of all is in Cut, the low budget 2000 Aussie Scream rip-off. In it she's the first character to be killed, playing an egomaniac director who humilates one of her actors and rather dramatically has her tongue chopped out with shears in retaliation. Eek!
