I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here's breakout star Barry Hall endured a lot in the jungle – Merv Hughes' back hair, insects as a form of protein and a flood of emotions he's in no hurry to sandbag.

The former bad boy of the AFL is on a quest to soften his image, literally, by being the ambassador of Kleenex's "Soften Up" campaign which kicks off on Sunday.

"I'm a pretty emotional, soft and tender person, which I think surprised a lot of people when they saw that side of me in the jungle," he told Fairfax Media.

"Being away from my family for such a long time really challenged me and was upsetting at times, but letting it all out really helped me. I think more people need to realise it's OK to shed a few tears in front of others every once in a while."

Hall won't be the only teary person on TV when the new advertisements premiere as his mum was also cast in the commercial. Despite being nervous in front of the camera, Mrs Hall displayed emotion on cue like she was a Home & Away veteran.

The former Swans star said more TV work, "everything except Dancing With The Stars, which is not really my cup of tea" and happy tears are now on his horizon. Some good news considering he claims to not have wept with joy for about a decade, during which time he married and then separated from partner Sophie Raadschelder.

"The last time I cried because I was happy would have been after the grand final [in 2005]. My whole family were there and we went into a room and just cried as it was a dream I had since I was a little boy to win a flag."

Model Nicole Trunfio has taken to motherhood the way she took the catwalks of New York and Paris – naturally and with aplomb.

The first-time mum is just four months into her new gig but is already considering more children.

"We've been definitely talking about having more kids but we've been blessed with this amazing baby and I know that it gets crazy when you bring another one into the mix and I'm really just enjoying things with him right now. But anything can happen, I definitely wouldn't be opposed to more soon. I want five," she said.

Trunfio gave birth to her first child with her Grammy award-winning fiance Gary Clark jnr on January 11 and worked throughout her pregnancy, even shooting a lingerie campaign for Pleasure State while five months pregnant.

The Australian model, who is based in New York, now plans to be a regular visitor to her family's home in Australind in WA's south-west.

"I think I'm going to spend more time in Australia this year while Zion's young, and see my family more," she said. The new addition to the Trunfio clan is some welcome good news considering her father Joe was diagnosed with cancer in 2012. At the time she shifted him to New York where he participated in a cancer treatment trial after being given a grim prognosis by local doctors.

For now though she's already back at work and epitomising the "working mother" concept by shooting her first postnatal cover with Zion for Elle Australia.

She follows in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie and Jerry Hall by being photographed breastfeeding her baby for the cover of a magazine, a first for an Australian glossy.

The former The Face Australia mentor appears on a special subscribers-only cover nursing her son.

"When I saw the [subscriber] cover of me breastfeeding, which was unplanned and just natural, I teared up and thought, 'Wow this is such a special moment where my worlds have collided'," she said.

"There is nothing more powerful and beautiful than motherhood. The last thing I want to do is be controversial, so please take this for what it is ... there is nothing worse than a mother that is judged for feeding her hungry child in public. I'm so proud of this cover and what it's stands for. I obviously don't look like this or wear [this] while I am breastfeeding but this stands for all women out there, whether you breastfeed or not, we gave birth, we are women, we are mothers," she added.

Elle Australia editor-in-chief Justine Cullen, who possesses one of the most discerning eyes in Australian publishing, said the image is a "celebration of motherhood and style".

"The subscriber shot happened by accident," Cullen told Fairfax Media.

"It was a completely natural moment that resulted in a powerful picture. It's a beautiful image that was unplanned so we decided to use it in a special way to say thank you to our subscribers. Since they understand Elle we knew they would tap into this celebration of style and womanhood."

So natural in fact little Zion peed on the Prada, the outfit Trunfio donned for the official June issue cover.

Jess Mauboy hits the Target

Target Australia are idiots. Idiots for not bottling their new womenswear ambassador Jessica Mauboy's infectious joie de vivre to sell as well.

Unlike a lot of other commercial partnerships, this connection between the singer and Australia's biggest retailer has a refreshing backstory.

"Every Sunday growing up all my family, cousins, sisters and parents would go shopping and Target was the one place I'd just run into and run amok trying things on, shoes that didn't fit and then my mum would yell out, 'You can't have that! We've got no money!'" she told Fairfax Media.

These days the Australian Idol alumna is kicking not only fashion goals – she's the one personality who can seamlessly rock Dolce & Gabbana one day and $39.99 mum jeans the next – but professionally she's one of our most sought after and versatile performers.

Having recently sung on stage with Olivia Newton John and made a cameo on the US Today show when co-host Savannah Guthrie was broadcasting from Sydney, Mauboy is heading to Britain to put the finishing touches on her fourth album. She'll then head home to perform under the glittering spire of Parliament House for the Midwinter Ball – the annual school formal for politicians.

Tom Stefanovic to bring Sydney's TV frenemies together

Attention TV fans, tie yourself down to whatever chair you're sitting in, because a Stefanovic will be hosting a Logies style event in Sydney, which you can attend.

While the knees-up, that will bring together the three commercial TV networks, was conceived in trademark Stefanovic style – over a few beers – it's all in the name of raising awareness and funds White Ribbon.

But it's not the brainchild of wearing-the-same-suit-for-a-year, high-heel donning Karl, The Still Light Exhibition is his younger brother Tom's baby.

The youngest son of Australia's most charismatic family, Channel Nine cameraman Tom, and Adam Bovino will be staging the exhibition, or as Stefanovic aptly described, "a cracking party where about 18 cameramen will display their stills photography which will be auctioned off for White Ribbon".

"News cammos are at the coalface of many of the awful events that happen, sometimes arriving at scenes before emergency services. They've witnessed the impact of violence," he said.

Industry stars such as Ten's Hugh Riminton, Seven's Mark Ferguson and, of course, Karl and sister-in-law-in-waiting Sylvia Jeffreys, will be taking in the landscape shots, travel pics and urban street style snaps on June 12 and sharing stories about their time on the road chasing stories with camera operators.

Behind every great woman is an even greater pair of jeans, something new mum Emma Lung has learned to appreciate since giving birth in April.

The Wonderland star debuted her baby son Marlowe on Wednesday for the launch of Levi's new denim collection at Carriageworks.

Lung, along with The Preatures vocalist Isabella Manfredi and guitarist Jack Moffitt, ahead of their Vivid performance, were treated to a sneak peek of the brand's new 501, which now suit mums and rockers thanks to the sister version – the 501 CT that features a more tapered leg, meaning more sex appeal and less Jerry Seinfeld for denim fans come August when these new shapes and styles hit stores and online.
