About 300 people gathered on Monday night to hold a candlelight vigil for Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan in their home city of Sydney one day before the Bali nine duo were to be executed.

The crowd huddled together at Blues Point Reserve, North Sydney, in front of a temporary monument of 15,000 flowers donated by Amnesty International supporters that spelt out Keep Hope Alive as a news helicopter hovered overhead.
"While we are here to call on [Indonesian] President [Joko] Widodo here tonight we're also here to show Andrew and Myuran that thousands of Australians are with them and we're thinking of them and our prayers are with them at this time," said Diana Sayed, human rights lawyer and crisis campaigner for Amnesty.
Ms Sayed said that she knew news of the vigil would reach Sukumaran and Chan.
"I'm sure they're going to be seeing this, their families are going to see this and it'll help whatever they are going through right now," she said.
The vigil followed news that the Australian Government is considering the dramatic step of recalling Australia's ambassador to Indonesia in response to Indonesia's Anzac Day announcement that the executions would be imminent.
The families of the pair will be forced to say their final farewells on Tuesday afternoon before their execution at midnight.
Across the city, about 100 protesters gathered outside the Indonesian consulate in Maroubra to plead for clemency.
Dozens held signs in solidarity with the pair, scrawled with: "I stand for Mercy" and a handful of children stood in front of an Australian flag draped over the consulate gates holding a banner that read: "Murdering humans is not the answer".
