But Panthers coach Pasquale Perre said the it was a "hard-fought game" for the understrenghted Monaro- the deciding goal coming in the dying minutes thanks to a penalty kick from Panther Matt Ryan.
"1-0 is a good result for us- we had four of our starting 11 out and we're trying to get back to match fitness," he said.
"It was a grudge match- we both wanted to win.
"City put a lot of pressure on us and they could've easily got the three points."
"We looked better than them and played a lot better (than last week)," City coach Zmejko Trajkovski said.
"In the second half we played really well and had four clear chances at a goal.
"We were unlucky not to get the win."
Lucas Fuhrmann was crucial up front for City; Igor Ilieveski was man of the match for the Panthers, supported by Zac Knight, Vele Dukoski, Nathan Walker and Matt Ryan.
