The event will kick off National Youth Week and feature local acts Too Sick Too Flow and singer Courtney White, dance performances by Aboriginal and New Zealand groups as well as fun activities like an inflatable wrecking ball, giant obstacle course and jumping castle.
Axis Youth Centre youth worker Luke Wallace said the expo was a chance to celebrate the positive contributions young people make to society.
"The theme is "It's Starts With Us", for us it's about what can young people provide? For themselves, their family, their community. We want them to take ownership of it," he said.
It was also a good opportunity to expose young people to the local organisations and services like sexual health, emergency services, tertiary education and student accounts and budgeting. Mental health support group, Headspace will also be there and the organisation is expected to officially open their Queanbeyan branch later this month.
Mr Wallace said in his experience young people in Queanbeyan were going through problems ranging from just having someone they can chat with right up to homelessness.
"It's a time to show young people, if they need support, where to find it," he said.
"There are a lot of different services, they are just not well advertised or well located...it's a little bit hard for young people to find and know what they provide, so it's important to have these events.
"Queanbeyan, being so close to Canberra yet far away, it's often hard for kids to access key services. There aren't a lot in Queanbeyan but the ones that are, do amazing work."
Approximately 150 - 180 young people visit Axis Youth Centre every week.
"We normally can have up to 30 - 40 kids a day, it's a safe place off the street where they can hang out with friends. There's always at least two youth workers so they can chat to us, get support and get referrals," he said.
"We have the pool tables, table tennis, movies and feed them on Thursday and Friday. They get a meal and for some kids they might not necessarily get a meal for that day until they come to us."
The Queanbeyan National Youth Expo is on Saturday, April 11 at Town Park from 12 - 4pm. Axis Youth Centre is open from Wednesday to Saturday, for opening hours visit www.qcc.nsw.gov.au.
