"If you are passionate about Queanbeyan's history and heritage and want to share your interest or want to find out more about our past, volunteering at the Museum is for you," president John McGlynn said.
The volunteers' welcome and training session is an opportunity to meet other enthusiasts and see what volunteers can offer and gain, particularly as a weekend opener and guide.
Mr McGlynn said the society has a large membership base but can always do with more members who want to be involved as a volunteer on weekends.
"Of course, we don't expect volunteers to go in cold. We team new volunteers with old hands," he said.
"Just turn up at the introductory session for weekend volunteers."
The Queanbeyan Museum Society volunteers training day will be held on Saturday, March 14 from 1pm. The Museum is located at 10 Farrer Place, Queanbeyan.
