This last week, particularly on Australia Day, we scraped the bottom of the televisual barrel. Cliffy? Australia? The Australian episodes of Modern Family? It's not exactly Sophie's Choice. A movie about an odd bloke who shuffled in gumboots, a camp reminder of Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman at their absolute worst, or Phil Dunphy dazzling us with his Australian accent. When that is as good as it gets, it's time to defect.
