Campbell, 23, announced the news to her Instagram followers on Sunday afternoon with a photo of the pair embracing and enjoying a flute of champagne.

"I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you. There are no words to describe how happy we are," she wrote.

But there was one word, or least a hashtag, "#ENGAGED," she signed off.

 

The couple have been dating for more than two years and made their social debut at the Spring Racing Carnival in Melbourne in 2013.

Franklin, a former Hawthorn Hawks star, relocated from Melbourne to Bondi to live with Campbell after signing a nine-year, $10 million deal with the Swans in late 2013.

The couple made headlines earlier this year when Franklin badly damaged five cars while driving Campbell's sponsored SUV through Sydney's plush Rose Bay.

The 27-year-old full forward was issued with a traffic infringement notice for negligent driving following the crash in April.

Campell, who was voted Miss Congeniality at the 2010 Miss Universe pageant, hosed down rumours of a possible engagement in October.

The Queensland-born model and Getaway presenter said her confidence and personal development was a credit to her beau.

"I've never associated myself with the word sexy until being with Buddy. I've always been sporty and tomboyish - I wasn't the pretty girl at school," she told Who magazine after stripping down for the annual Body Issue in November.

"Now, being in a relationship where I'm supported on every level, I've come into myself."
