Sam Frost, Elijh Deveau-Patterson and Abhinash Kumar were each selected in emerging ACT Comets representative teams to compete in the NSW districts competition, which started on October 26 and ends on December 14.

Frost, in his second season for the Comets and Deveau-Patterson, in his debut season, were picked in the under 12s squad, while Kumar, also in his first representative season, was picked in the under 13s side.

It has been a very busy year for Frost, 12, who played Australian Rules for the Queanbeyan Tigers during the winter season, and has also played basketball for the Queanbeyan Roadrunners all year.

He claims to be an all-rounder in cricket, having taken a hat-trick of wickets playing for his school Queanbeyan West Public against Merimbula last month, as well as top scoring with the bat for Queanbeyan in last month's Kookaburra Cup.

"It's really great to be playing with the Comets again. I love just playing together will all the boys from across the Canberra competition," Frost said.

"I'm the captain of the team this season too which is exciting. I'd love to play cricket for Australia one day."

Deveau-Patterson has taken the gloves to wicket-keep in his first season as a Comet after playing cricket for just three seasons.

The 11-year old said he loves playing with boys from other clubs across Canberra, and would like to continue playing cricket for the rest of his life.

"Dave Warner is my Australian hero though. He's an awesome batsman," Deveau-Patterson said.

Kumar recently bowled a bowl at 105 kilometres per hour, which he said was the fastest in his under 13s Comets side, and admitted looking up to Australian strike bowler Mitchell Johnson made him want to bowl as fast as he could.

"I bowl right arm fast, but I have a good slower ball as well, and I like to slog the ball with the bat," he said.
