WAMBOIN teenager Amelia McInnes' first experience at the Queanbeyan Show was as a nine-month-old being led around the show ring on the back of her pony, French Fry.

The 19-year-old's latest memory, being crowned the 2014 Queanbeyan Showgirl on Saturday, November 8, is sure to top that very first outing.
"It was a great feeling to be selected by the panel," Miss McInnes said.
"I am very passionate about the Queanbeyan Show and have literally been involved since I was nine-months-old ... my nan bought French Fry for me, I still have him to this day.
"I have competed and supported the show every year since [then]."
The Queanbeyan Show Girl judges were looking for a well-presented and articulate representative as well as someone who had experience in the agricultural community and would give back to it.
Miss McInnes is certainly a good fit. After she was officially named Showgirl and given her sash, she changed into casual clothes and was back in the animal nursery helping out.
She has extensive agricultural experience and knowledge is extensive as she is employed as a horse breaker / track rider.
She and her brother, Mark McInnes also have their own online businessn selling custom-made horse gear.
Following her Showgirl win, Miss McInnes has now progressed to the zone finals which will be held in February 2015.
"The title of Queanbeyan Show Girl is an honour, both personally and in terms of giving back to the Show society and the Queanbeyan community," she said.
"I chose to enter in order to embrace the aim of what 'Queanbeyan Showgirl' represents; a well-mannered, intelligent and articulate young woman with charm and personality."
