A 15-year-old boy has died after he was struck by lightning at a beach in Port Stephens.

The boy had been surfing with friends and an adult at One Mile Beach, near Anna Bay, when an electrical storm blew over about 5.10pm.
He was about 20 metres out of the water when he was struck by lightning.
Members of the public carried out CPR until paramedics arrived, Acting Inspector Geoff Bos from the Port Stephens Local Area Command said.
A rescue helicopter was also called to the scene.
Paramedics continued CPR on the boy for about one hour but he could not be revived.
The teenager was from the Beresfield/Thornton area and was staying at the One Mile caravan park with friends.
Earlier reports suggested the boy was aged 17 but police confirmed he was aged 15.
