Its division one team snuck into semi-final action when it finished fourth last year, but struggled this season to finish last back in May, while the division four girls suffered the same fate last weekend.
But division five lost just one game- by two points- and finished second on the ladder to give themselves a second chance in the finals series, which features the top four teams.
Coach Jodi Ross said her girls had worked hard on their defence throughout the season, and this had paid dividends.
"They have been brilliant defensively, but all the way down the court as well. Even our attackers have defended well," Ross said.
Injuries and form have also been in Ross' favour over the last two months of the spring season, and she said she had not needed to overuse her interchange bench as a result.
Goal shooter Jacoba Clough has backed up her brilliant form for Waratah in the Queanbeyan netball competition in the state league according to Ross, and she also labelled Lanit Wuvuai, Riley McDonald and Mikaela Callendar as players to be reckoned with.
She said her girls were confident in up-ending minor premiers Tuggeranong, with just a draw separating them from Queanbeyan on the ladder, and with her side also getting a one-point win over them in round two.
"We're certainly looking at winning this week and going straight through to the grand final and earn a week off," Ross said.
"We've beaten these girls before, and we can certainly beat them again considering we've got a bit more experience now."
The game starts at 5.15pm on Saturday.
