Boro's Casey Woodbridge may have moved up an age group on the day, but that did not worry him, as he came out of the blocks in grand style and took out the boys steer riding event at the Bungendore Rodeo on Sunday.

The 14-year old, whose elder brother Travis, 17, also competed on the day, had previously been competing in the 11 to 14 years age group, but decided to move up to 14 to 18 years for his Bungendore ride.
And of only three riders to qualify in his event, he was the only rider to stay on top of his steer, a breed of cattle, after the eight second qualifying period, which also earned him his highest ever score of 75.
"It was my highest ever score and I went up an age group too, so it was great," Woodbridge said.
"I've just been trying to cover the whole steer [to stay on], and try and get as many points as I can."
"I've been spurring as well, so that probably gave me an extra five points."
Hundreds of rodeo fans turned out to the Bungendore Rodeo's property, which sits east of Bungendore, in hot conditions which saw the mercury climb to around 30 degrees.
The event ran from around 9am to 5:30pm, showcasing around 30 individual events across disciplines such as steer riding, bull riding, and rope competition.
Woodbridge said it was great to get his best ever result in front of a local crowd, and added next time he would try jumping off his steer to get even more points.
"You don't want to get flung off and get a few points taken off you, but when you jump, normally the judges like that a bit better," he said.
