While the anti-doping body said on Monday its intention was to "fast-track" the distribution of the show-cause notices, its primary objective remained "thoroughness".

ASADA also said James Hird's appeal to the full Federal Court on November 10 would not have an impact on when it re-issued the show-cause notices.

Anti-doping experts not involved in the case have suggested that ASADA would be better off waiting until the appeal was over for, if Hird was successful, the show-cause process may have to be re-done not using evidence that was gathered during last year's joint probe by ASADA and the AFL. Hird maintains that process was unlawful.

However, the players remain keen for as quick an end to this saga as possible, and Hird has said he does not want this show-cause process to be halted by his appeal.

The period for Hird and Essendon to appeal against last month's Federal Court finding expired last Friday, allowing show-cause notices to be sent as soon as ASADA was ready.

In a statement, ASADA said: "Following the expiry of the Federal Court appeal period, work is underway on the amended show-cause notices for 34 former and current Essendon football players.

"The amended show-cause notices will include a comprehensive summary of the evidence in support of the case against the players. The notices are detailed and individually tailored to each player.

"ASADA will only issue the amended show-cause notices once it is satisfied that the notices have met all the requirements of the National Anti-Doping scheme. Our intention is to fast-track the production of the amended notices, but we will not sacrifice thoroughness and accuracy for speed.

"The date set for the Federal Court appeal hearing will not affect ASADA issuing show cause notices."

ASADA's decision to produce detailed evidence, reportedly set to be more than 50 pages for each player, is likely to appease lawyers for the players. The players had feared it would only be a brief of evidence. Once the players have this evidence, they will be in a better position to know how to fight their case and, ultimately, to determine whether a deal needs to be struck with ASADA.

Once the show-cause notices are distributed, players are likely to have 10 days to respond, although ASADA can provide more time.

The burden of proof ASADA needs to present to have players placed on ASADA's register of findings is low, needing only to declare that a violation had "possibly" occurred.

The Anti-Doping Rule Violation Panel will rule whether players should be placed on the register, the trigger point for infraction notices.

ASADA said on Monday that the amended show-causes would still only focus on the banned peptide, Thymosin beta 4. The original show-cause notices, which carried few details, were issued in June but had been put on hold while Hird and Essendon took ASADA to court in August.

Along with the interviews of players and officials last year, ASADA's evidence is expected to rely on interviews given by disgraced biochemist Shane Charter, Malcolm Hooper, who ran the South Yarra hyperbaric chamber clinic where players were given 112 injections of allegedly unspecified amino acids, and Nima Alavi, the compounding pharmacist who gave 26 vials of "thymosin" to Stephen Dank, the sports scientist at the centre of the scandal.

Dank has said the vials could not be used because the substance in them had come in contact with light.

It's understood Hooper, during his interview, maintains the players were given nothing illegal at his clinic while the Bombers ran their supplements program in 2012.

During the interview stage, several players were unsure whether they had been administered any form of Thymosin, with only a handful reportedly admitting they may have been injected with the supplement. ASADA will argue they were given Thymosin beta 4.

Ruckman Paddy Ryder, seeking a trade to Port Adelaide and a fresh start away from the scandal, did not admit to taking Thymosin.
