QUEANBEYAN motorsport star Mark Webber's endurance skills will be tested on Sunday, as the nine-time grand prix winner prepares for his second World Endurance Championship race in three weeks in Fuji, Japan.

In trying conditions of extreme heat and torrential rain in round four of the WEC at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, Webber's Porsche team finished fifth overall, a placing Webber was happy with.
He said he was looking forward to racing at Fuji again, a venue he has not raced at since 2008 when he raced in his second Formula One grand prix at the track.
"Fuji is a challenging circuit with a long straight and in the last sector it's quite difficult to get everything together," Webber said on his website
"There are combined corners, the car balance is important and the technique on braking is quite tricky."
Webber's team currently sits 10th on the WEC rankings, after they made the podium in third in round one at Silverstone, crashed out of the 24 heurs of Le Mans in round two, and reeled in at 12th during third round action at Spa, Belgium.
He said public support for motorsport in Japan was big, and was looking forward to soaking in the atmosphere there again.
"Japanese fans are passionate and very emotional and the sports car race in Fuji is a very famous one," he said in a statement for Porsche.
The race starts at 2pm Australian eastern daylight saving time on Sunday.
