The 15-year old Dubbo product will travel to Wellington, New Zealand next week to play in the indoor cricket world cup, after he recently made a move to Queanbeyan to play with the club in this season's grade cricket competition.
He has played the indoor format of the sport for just four years, but has already donned the green and gold six times, including a trip to South Africa, but in preferring the normal outdoor version, he said he looked forward to exposure to "more professional coaching" now playing under Cricket ACT.
"I've been playing about three indoor games a week back in Dubbo, but just as a hobby during the winter season," Burrowes said.
"I'm hoping to learn a lot more here than what I would have in Dubbo, and just see how things go."
"It's like a new system to me here. It's a lot more full on for what I'm used to, and it's more structured."
The batting all-rounder said he dreamed of representing Australia in outdoor cricket one day, but admitted there was a long road ahead of him to get there.
On his upcoming New Zealand trip, in which his team Australia is ranked number one in the world and is expected to win, he said he would likely be the left-handed opening batsman.
He added the key to him playing well was to hit the ball as hard as he could.
"I've played against the Kiwis before in South Africa at the junior world cup, and I've also played indoor cricket in Sri Lanka, so I know how I need to play to get the runs needed," he said.
He is in line to make his Queanbeyan debut in round three of the grade competition.
