A hamstring injury hindered Holland's season, forcing him to miss what would have been a dream Commonwealth Games debut in Glasgow, but he made his return off the bench last weekend at the Oceania Sevens event in Noosa, Queensland, where Australia finished fourth.
Starting positions in the Australian side will not be determined until the event starts, but Holland said he would likely be coming off the bench as he was still building match fitness.
"It's a two day tournament and we'll be playing three games each day. I'm looking forward to it. It's good getting back into the swing of things, and I'm looking forward to the challenge," Holland said.
"You've got a lot of chances to prove yourself, whether you're coming off the bench or starting, so it'll be good to get a good number of games under my belt."
It is a good time for Holland to be back on the playing field, with the qualifying period for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro now open, and having missed Glasgow this year, he said he dreamed of getting an Olympic start.
He added he had learned the lessons of being over-confident with how his body was working physically, and that he would now identify potential injuries better, and react more efficiently to reduce their chances of being long term.
"I think just knowing my body, and knowing of I'm tight, and doing a proper warm-up before a tournament is a major thing," he said.
"Before I was a bit young and just a bit naive. Doing the correct procedure in the warm-up and little things off the field will keep you on the field."
Australia must finish in the top four this year to automatically qualify for the next Olympics.
