Driver blames 'blonde moment' for roundabout confusion

A 24-YEAR-OLD man claimed he was having "a blonde moment" after he was caught entering a roundabout on the wrong side of the road and drink driving.
Queanbeyan Police officers observed the man's dangerous driving at the Morriset and Waniassa Street roundabout at about 12.10am on Saturday, September 27.
When police approached the driver and questioned him about his driving, he replied 'I had a blonde moment'.
Police subsequently breath tested the man and he returned a reading of 0.075.
He was charged with driving with a low-range PCA and will appear in Queanbeyan Local Court on October 27.
Cash box stolen in break and enter
A CASH box containing an undisclosed amount of money was stolen during a break and enter at a Lowe Street business.
Police believed the burglary took place between 7 to 7.30pm on Saturday, September 27.
It appeared the perpetrators have jimmied the front door open to gain access to the business and taken the cash box.

Police search for owner of abandoned car
QUEANBEYAN Police are continuing to search for the owner of a vehicle that was involved in a hit and run and then abandoned at the scene.
The silver Toyota Yaris was travelling south along Crawford Street at about 10.45pm on Saturday, September 27.
The car crashed at the intersection of Collett and Crawford Street, mounting the footpath and collided with a light post.
It appears the appears the vehicle was reversed, parked and left at the scene. The car has NSW registration plates but Queanbeyan Police confirmed it was not a local driver.
Driver crashes into 'stop' sign, collides with light pole
A KARABAR woman had to be cut out of her vehicle after she crashed into a light pole at about 6.45pm on Friday, September 26.
The 27-year-old was travelling on Cooma Road towards O'Hanlon Road when her vehicle left the road. She mounted the kerb, crashed into a 'stop' sign and light pole.
The force of the collision caused her vehicle to spin around.
Emergency services attended and had to cut the driver's door off to free the woman.
Queanbeyan Police because there may have been a medical reason for the woman's loss of control.
They have put in an application to question her fitness as a licence holder.
