The 50-year-old actor woke up at 4am after hearing noises coming from the library of his Hollywood Hills home, according to reports.
He discovered a woman in her 40s who had allegedly broken in and was sitting down, TMZ reported.
It might have been his calm on-screen persona and near monotone voice, but the Matrix star had no problem facing the intruder and calmly talking to her, according to reports.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ: "Keanu calmly approached her and began speaking to her. She explained she was there to meet him. He very calmly called 911 and obtusely told the dispatcher cops needed to roll quick.
"Police came and took the woman into custody. She was taken for a psych evaluation."
The incident comes three months after a man broke into Sandra Bullock's house and made his way into the star's bedroom as she slept.
Joshua Corbett, who was charged with stalking the Gravity actress, was found to have an arsenal of weapons at his home, including a machine gun.
